MEREDITH OGLESBY
Communications and Research Assistant
Meredith Oglesby began working with CREE during the Fall of 2020 and is currently in her final semester of graduate school at the University of Florida.

Meredith is studying agricultural education and communication with a graduate minor in nonprofit studies at the University of Florida. She chose this degree track because it allowed her to combine many of her interests while conducting important research that supports food and food assistance programs.
Meredith’s role at CREE focuses on creating communication outputs and conducting research. Her thesis research is a component of CREE’s Lessons from COVID-19 research grant. Meredith has analyzed this data and developed fact sheets that compile key research findings and recommendations.
Through these experiences, Meredith has been able to hone her science communication skills. She has learned to take research and make it applicable and useful to other audiences.
Meredith’s favorite thing about working with CREE has been the opportunity to share research findings from the things that she is working on. She loves that the research conducted at CREE helps producers and Extension agents communicate with consumers about food and agriculture.

Meredith grew up on a beef farm in Hillsboro, Ohio and has been involved in the agriculture industry ever since. She earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in agricultural communications. In her free time, Meredith enjoys going on play dates with her mini aussiedoodle, Phoebe, and watching college football.
